The Media Relations team at Arkansas Children’s is dedicated to getting you the experts you need for news about pediatric health care before deadline.
If you are a member of the news media and have an urgent request, please call us for an immediate response. We answer media questions on behalf of the health system for all locations and campuses 24 hours-a-day, 7 days-a-week.
National & Local Media Contacts
Condition reports for a specific patient are available to members of the media by calling 501-364-4300 during regular business hours or 501-364-1100 after hours and asking for the Strategic Marketing representative on-call. Please note that we are unable to release information unless you can provide the patient’s first and last name.
If the patient's name is listed in the Arkansas Children's Patient Directory, Strategic Marketing may release a one-word condition (as defined below) on the patient.
- Good – Vital signs are stable and within normal limits. The patient is conscious and comfortable. Indicators are excellent.
- Fair – Vital signs are stable and within normal limits. The patient is conscious but may be uncomfortable. Indicators are favorable.
- Serious – Vital signs are unstable and not within normal limits. The patient may be unconscious. Indicators are questionable.
- Critical – Vital signs are unstable and not within normal limits. The patient may be unconscious. Indicators are unfavorable.
- Deceased – One-word statement only after next-of-kin has been notified.
Strategic Marketing is available Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. CST, to schedule interviews, provide condition reports and arrange media visits to the hospital. Call 501-364-4300 for assistance. For condition reports after hours and on weekends or holidays, call the main hospital at 501-364-1100 and ask the operator to page the Strategic Marketing staff member on call.
To best manage media requests, Arkansas Children’s Hospital has established the following media guidelines:
- Contact Strategic Marketing to arrange all interviews with AC patients, staff and physicians.
- Advance notice for on-site interviews is necessary so Strategic Marketing staff can arrange a room for media interviews or photo shoots, notify the patient care areas involved and schedule the appropriate patients, families and/or staff.
- To protect the privacy of all AC patients and families, a Strategic Marketing staff member must accompany all reporters, film crews and photographers on campus.
- No photographs of, or interviews with, patients can be made without the signed consent of a parent or legal guardian, which will be obtained only by a Strategic Marketing staff member.
To schedule an interview with one of our many experts, please contact the Arkansas Children's Strategic Marketing department at 501-364-4300.
We will do everything we can to schedule your interview as quickly as possible. If you do not find your topic listed here, please contact us. We will be glad to help you find the right person.
