Kimberly Stephens, RN, MPH, PhD

Dr. Stephens’ principal research interests focus on interindividual variability in the development and maintenance of persistent pain. Specifically, she studies how changes in chromatin accessibility, DNA methylation, and other epigenetic mechanisms may play a role in an individual’s risk of persistent pain. Findings from these studies will facilitate the discovery of therapeutic targets for novel strategies toward the prevention and treatment of neuropathic pain. Dr. Stephens is a junior investigator in the Center for Translational Pediatric Research.
