Programs and Services for the Center for Childhood Obesity Prevention
Request for Applications (RFA) Program
The RFA Program is the formal solicitation and review process the Center uses to announce and award Pilot Study funding opportunities.
Investigators who are interested in applying for Pilot Study funding are encouraged to contact the Center PI/Director, Dr. Judy Weber at WeberJudithL@uams.edu or 501-364-3382 to determine if your idea fits with the Center theme.

Purpose
The Administrative and Scientific Support Core is designed to provide the basic operational underpinning to support the research efforts of the Center. The goals are to establish and operate the center; provide guided mentoring support for junior investigators; recruit new junior faculty; core develop and enhance the support cores to strengthen Center infrastructure and Center sustainability; and support the development of multidisciplinary grant applications that address the theme of childhood obesity.

The mission of the Biostatistics and Informatics Core is to provide statistical, database and electronic-data capture support for proposed and future research projects supported by the Center for Childhood Obesity Prevention while enhancing and strengthening its own research capabilities.

Purpose
The mission of the Metabolism and Bioenergetics Core is to provide support in design and implementation of metabolic studies, biological sample analyses, and data analyses for proposed and future research projects supported by the Center for Childhood Obesity Prevention, while enhancing and strengthening its own research capabilities.
