Study Purpose

We are studying the accuracy of sleep trackers in children ages 2 to under 18 years and how factors like gut bacteria, diet, and physical activity may influence sleep quality and duration.

Eligibility

Children ages 2-17 referred for a sleep test (polysomnography) at Arkansas Children’s Hospital.

Study Participation

  • Participants will wear sleep trackers (two on the wrist, two around the waist) during their sleep test.
  • Parents will bring a stool sample to the visit.
  • Complete brief questionnaires on your child’s home environment, growth, diet,physical activity, and mood.
  • The research team will measure weight, height, blood pressure, and heart rate.

Duration

All research procedures can be completed on the day of the sleep test. However, if preferred, participants can answer questionnaires over the phone up to 10 days before the test date.

Study Requirements

  • Arrive at Arkansas Children’s Hospital 3 hours before the sleep test.
  • Return all sleep trackers to the sleep clinic after the test.
