Neuromuscular Program
The Neuromuscular Program at Arkansas Children's Hospital is dedicated to treating infants, children and teens with neuromuscular disorders.
Neuromuscular disorders include a wide range of conditions including:
- Myopathies
- muscular dystrophies
- neuropathies
- neuromuscular junction disorders (such as myasthenia gravis)
- motor neuron diseases (such as spinal muscular atrophy)
Multidisciplinary Neuromuscular Clinics that we offer:
- Dystrophinopathy clinic: children with Duchenne and Becker Muscular dystrophies
- Muscular dystrophy clinic: children with other types of muscular dystrophies, myopathies, and myasthenia gravis
- SMA clinic: children with spinal muscular atrophy
- Neuropathy clinic: children with inherited neuropathy (Charcot Marie Tooth disease) and acquired neuropathy, such as CIDP
- Undiagnosed neuromuscular clinic: children with suspected neuromuscular disorders with no confirmed diagnosis

Electromyography Laboratory
Our dedicated electromyography (EMG) laboratory combines the expertise of neurologists specializing in neuromuscular disorders with technology to offer the latest in electrodiagnosis: EMG, nerve conduction studies, repetitive nerve stimulation, and single fiber EMG.
