Children with neurodevelopmental disorders (e.g., autism, ADHD) and children who live in poverty, particularly racial and ethnic minority children, are at risk for a host of negative outcomes, including poor mental health outcomes and low academic achievement. Dr. Hill’s research focuses on promoting social-emotional development and academic functioning in these populations of children. Specifically, her program of research involves investigating:

  1. The nature and presentation of anxiety in autistic youth.
  2. Factors underlying disparities among low-income children and children with autism.
  3. The translation of evidence-based programs in community settings.
