He is a sub-investigator in NIH funded research of novel food allergy treatments. He is a collaborator on several research studies with the Consortium of Eosinophilic Gastrointestinal Disease Researchers (CEGIR) whose aim is to improve the lives of individuals with eosinophilic gastrointestinal disorders through innovative research, clinical expertise and education via collaborations between scientists, health care providers, patients, and professional organizations. Current studies include investigation of the natural history of eosinophilic gastritis, enteritis, and colitis as well as dietary management of children with eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE). Dr. Pesek is the Medical Director of Asthma for Arkansas Children’s. The asthma program aims to improve the health of all children in Arkansas with asthma through a partnership with primary care and specialty providers throughout the state as well as investigation of novel treatments for asthma.
