Because your child needs more than medicine to heal, the T.A.I.L.S. (Therapeutic Animal Intervention Lifts Spirits) program provides patients with therapeutic opportunities to interact with trained dogs. Pet Partner Volunteers allow your child to interact and play with certified therapy dogs. These interactions often result in reduced anxiety and pain, increased cooperation, and assist to normalize the hospital experience.

Arkansas Children’s Hospital offers opportunities to participate in animal-assisted interventions in group sessions throughout the hospital and outpatient clinics during the times listed below. For those patients unable to visit Camp Wannaplay, child life specialists may arrange for certified dog visits at the patient's bedside with doctor’s orders and parent approval.
